Should I rent a restroom trailer or porta potties for my wedding?
Rent a restroom trailer when the wedding has more than 75 guests and power is on site. Choose deluxe flushing porta potties or a VIP flushing cabin for ranch weddings without power. All 3 options have a flush toilet and a sink. Only the restroom trailer has A/C, heat and multiple stalls.

How many restrooms do I need for a wedding?
Use 1 restroom unit per 50 guests for 4 hours, ×1.5 up to 6 hours, and ×2 up to 8 hours. Weddings usually have an open bar, so add 1 unit for every 4. A 150-guest, 6-hour reception with a bar needs 7 units, or a multi-stall trailer plus a backup unit.
| Guests | Hours | Standard / deluxe units | With open bar | Accessible units |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 75 | 6 | 3 | 4 | 1 |
| 100 | 6 | 3 | 4 | 1 |
| 150 | 6 | 5 | 7 | 1 |
| 200 | 8 | 8 | 10 | 1 |
| 300 | 8 | 12 | 15 | 1 |
For a restroom trailer, we size the stall count on the call from guests, hours and bar. Tell us those 3 numbers. The porta potty sizing guide shows the math.
Does a wedding restroom trailer need power and water?
Yes, a restroom trailer needs standard 120V power and either a garden-hose water connection or an onboard freshwater tank. The trailer also needs level ground and a clear path for our truck. When the site has no power, we can arrange a generator, or you can choose self-contained flushing units.
- Power
- Standard 120V outlet within cord reach, or a generator we arrange
- Water
- Garden-hose connection, or the onboard freshwater tank
- Ground
- Level, firm spot; tell us about slopes or soft soil
- Access
- Room for the truck and trailer to back in and pull out
- Comfort
- Flush toilets, sinks, mirrors, lighting, A/C and heat

How far ahead should I book a restroom trailer for my wedding?
Book a wedding restroom trailer at least 7–10 days ahead, because trailer stock is limited. Book a month or more ahead for wedding season, Easter, Memorial Day and Labor Day weekends. Wheelchair-accessible units follow the same 7–10 day rule and sell out first on holiday weekends.
| When | What to do |
|---|---|
| 2–3 months out | Pick the restroom type. Ask the venue about power, water and truck access. |
| At least 7–10 days out | Book the restroom trailer or wheelchair-accessible unit. Peak weekends need more lead time. |
| 1 week out | Confirm guest count, hours, the exact spot and the gate code. |
| Day before (or Friday) | We deliver, level the trailer and hook up power and water. |
| Wedding day | Lights on before sunset. Someone checks paper and soap halfway through the night. |
| Monday | We pick up. You pay the event rate only, no extra days. |
Our 2-stall trailers have separate men's and women's doors. Larger multi-stall trailers are available for bigger receptions.
Getting married on a ranch or in a backyard?
Tell us the guest count, hours and whether power is on site. We will tell you which restroom fits and give you an itemized quote.
Where should the wedding restrooms go at a ranch or backyard venue?
Place wedding restrooms 50–100 feet from the dance floor and dinner tables, on level ground, with a lit path. Point the doors away from the ceremony view. A restroom trailer also needs to sit within cord reach of 120V power and hose reach of water.
- Walk the site with your plannerFind level ground near power and water but out of the photos.
- Plan for nightTrailers and VIP cabins have interior lights. Porta potties do not, so add path lights and a lantern hook.
- Mark the spotA cone, stake or ribbon is enough. Nobody needs to be there at delivery.
- Keep the drive clearTents, rentals and guest parking must leave our truck a way in and out.

Do you provide an attendant for the wedding restrooms?
An on-site restroom attendant is not part of a standard Brian Rental Works wedding rental. Every unit arrives cleaned, sanitized and stocked. For receptions over 6 hours, we suggest 1 person from the venue or family check toilet paper, soap and towels every 2 hours.
Ask on the call for extra rolls and towels to leave with your coordinator. Multi-day weddings can add a mid-event service visit Monday through Saturday. See VIP and luxury restroom options for the most upscale setups.
