Can I rent a porta potty for my house during a bathroom remodel?
Yes. A home porta potty rental keeps your family and the crew out of a torn-up bathroom. Brian Rental Works sets 1 standard unit in the driveway or side yard, services the unit weekly, and bills in 28-day cycles. Weekly service is included for as long as the remodel runs.
A remodel crew usually counts on the house bathroom. When that bathroom is the one being gutted, the crew and your family share the porta potty.
Short remodel of a week or less? Ask about an event rate instead of a 28-day cycle. Remodels that run long go on monthly porta potty rental with weekly service.
My septic tank failed. How fast can I get a porta potty at home?
A home with a failed septic tank can have a porta potty the same day when you call by 12:00 PM, Monday through Saturday. Septic repairs often take weeks, so we bill in 28-day cycles with weekly service included. One standard unit usually covers a household of 4 to 5 people with weekly service.
Larger households, or homes with guests, may need a second unit or twice-weekly service. In summer heat, more frequent service helps with odor.
Want a sink? A deluxe flushing unit has a foot-pump flush and a fresh-water sink. See same-day porta potty delivery for what to have ready on the call.
Should I rent a porta potty for a backyard party so guests stay out of the house?
Yes, for most backyard parties over 30 guests. A porta potty in the yard keeps guests from walking through the house, tracking in dirt and backing up a septic system. Plan 1 standard unit per 50 guests for a party up to 4 hours. Add a handwashing station when food is served.
Homeowners told us they did not want everyone going through the house during a birthday or quinceañera. A unit by the side gate solves that.
For a nicer look, a VIP flushing cabin fits in a driveway. A party on Saturday is delivered Friday and picked up Monday at the event rate. See one-day and weekend rentals.

Will a porta potty fit through my side gate?
A standard porta potty is about 44 inches wide, 48 inches deep and 7 ft 7 in tall, so the unit needs a gate with about 48 inches of clear opening. The driver can roll a unit about 15 feet from the truck on a dolly. Low branches, eaves and patio covers also need about 8 feet of clearance.
- Width
- About 44 in (needs ~48 in clear gate)
- Depth
- About 48 in
- Height
- About 7 ft 7 in (91 in)
- Empty weight
- About 150–175 lb
- Wheelchair-accessible unit
- About 7.5 × 7.5 ft — usually driveway only
Measure the gate between the posts, not the gate panel. If the opening is under 48 inches, a driveway or front side-yard spot works better.
Where should a porta potty go in my driveway or yard?
The best home porta potty spot is flat, firm and within about 15 feet of where our truck can park. A driveway, a gravel pad or a level side yard works well. On pavers or new sod, tell us on the call. The unit weighs about 150–175 pounds empty and sits on a flat base.
- Driveway: easiest for weekly service. Leave room to back your car out.
- Pavers: the unit is light enough for most paver patios. Tell us so the driver rolls the unit in on a dolly.
- Lawn: pick a level spot away from sprinkler heads and septic lids.
- Shade: a shaded spot keeps the inside cooler in an Edinburg summer.
- Door direction: face the door toward your yard, not the street or a neighbor’s window.

Not sure the unit fits? Call or text the yard. We tell you the best spot before the truck rolls.
Do I need HOA or neighbor approval for a porta potty at home?
Some HOAs set rules on temporary structures, so check your HOA rules before a long rental. Brian Rental Works cannot give legal advice. A short party rental of 1 to 3 days rarely causes trouble. For remodels of 2 weeks or more, a quick note to the HOA and the next-door neighbors avoids most complaints.
- Place the unit behind a gate or in the side yard when you can.
- Face the door away from neighbors and the street.
- Weekly service keeps odor down; ask for twice-weekly in summer.
- Call for pickup 2 business days before the job ends, so the unit leaves on time.
City permits are usually tied to events and construction, not to a porta potty in a private driveway. Confirm with your permit office or HOA if you are unsure.
Can I rent a porta potty for raw land or a camper with no septic?
Yes. Brian Rental Works rents porta potties for raw land, homesites and campers without septic, billed in 28-day cycles with weekly service. A pin drop works when the land has no street address. We also pump RV black tanks and holding tanks in Hidalgo County on scheduled route days.
Many buyers in rural Hidalgo County live on a lot while a home or septic system is built. See RV and camper toilet rentals for black-tank pump-outs.
