How does monthly porta potty rental work?
A monthly porta potty rental from Brian Rental Works is billed in 28-day cycles that start on delivery day. Each cycle includes the unit and 1 service visit per week. Cycles renew automatically until you call for pickup. Call 2 business days before you want the unit gone, and billing stops after pickup.
Long-term rentals cover construction jobs, septic repairs, remodels, raw land, farms and seasonal work. The rules are the same for each.
There is no long contract to sign. The rental keeps going as long as you need the unit, and you end the rental with one phone call.
Why is billing every 28 days instead of every calendar month?
A 28-day cycle is exactly 4 weeks, so every cycle has the same 4 weekly service visits. Calendar months run 28 to 31 days, which would change the service count and the price. With 28-day billing, a 31-day month never costs more. A year of continuous rental has 13 cycles, not 12.
The cycle date follows your delivery day, not the 1st of the month. A unit delivered on the 11th starts each new cycle on the same weekday, every 4 weeks.
Put the cycle start dates on your calendar. The next cycle starts the day after the last day of the current one.
Is weekly service included in a long-term porta potty rental?
Yes. Every 28-day cycle includes 1 service visit per week: pump the waste tank, clean and sanitize the inside, deodorize, and restock toilet paper and sanitizer. From June through September, when Edinburg highs average 99.9–101.3°F, we recommend twice-weekly service for crews or households of more than 10 people.
Extra visits can be added at any time, for an inspection, a party or a busy week.
Keep the path to the unit clear on service day. A blocked unit cannot be pumped. See construction porta potty service for jobsite tips.
Does a long-term porta potty rental renew automatically?
Yes. A long-term porta potty rental renews into a new 28-day cycle on its own until you call for pickup. We do not pick up the unit on a guessed end date. That protects crews and families from losing a toilet mid-job. Calling 2 business days ahead is the only step needed to end billing.
Planning a job that runs a month or more?
Call with your start date and crew size. We set the cycle dates and service day on one call.
How do I extend or stop a monthly porta potty rental?
To extend a monthly porta potty rental, do nothing; the next 28-day cycle starts automatically. To stop the rental, call (956) 396-3318 at least 2 business days before the pickup day you want. Business days are Monday through Saturday. We do not pick up on Sunday, so plan Monday or Saturday pickups.
- Pick your pickup dayChoose a day from Monday to Saturday when the path to the unit will be clear.
- Call 2 business days aheadA Saturday pickup means calling by Thursday. A Monday pickup means calling by Friday, because Sunday is not a business day.
- Leave the unit reachableKeep the gate open or share the code. Nobody needs to be on site.
- Billing stopsYour rental ends with that pickup. The next cycle is not billed.
Ask on the call how a mid-cycle pickup is billed for your account. Most renters time pickup near the end of a cycle. Full details are in our rental terms.
What does a 28-day rental look like from delivery to pickup?
Here is a worked example of a 28-day porta potty rental. A unit delivered Monday, January 11 starts cycle 1, which runs through Sunday, February 7. Cycle 2 starts February 8. The renter calls Thursday, March 4 for a Saturday, March 6 pickup, so billing ends after 2 cycles.
| Date (example) | What happens | Billing |
|---|---|---|
| Mon, Jan 11 | Unit delivered. Day 1 of cycle 1. | Cycle 1 billed (Jan 11–Feb 7), plus delivery and pickup quoted once |
| Mon, Jan 18, 25, Feb 1 | Weekly service: pump, clean, restock | Included |
| Mon, Feb 8 | Cycle 2 starts automatically | Cycle 2 billed (Feb 8–Mar 7) |
| Mon, Feb 15, 22, Mar 1 | Weekly service continues | Included |
| Thu, Mar 4 | You call: job ends, pick up Saturday | 2 business days of notice given |
| Sat, Mar 6 | Unit picked up | Billing stops. No cycle 3. |
| Mon, Mar 8 | Cycle 3 would have started | Only billed if you had not called |

How many porta potties does a long-term job need?
One standard porta potty serviced weekly comfortably handles about 10 people on a 40-hour week. A crew of 11 to 20 needs a second unit or twice-weekly service. OSHA 29 CFR 1926.51 sets the legal minimum for construction: 1 toilet for 20 or fewer workers. Add a handwashing station where people eat.
The construction rule is at OSHA 29 CFR 1926.51. Use the porta potty sizing guide for crew and household counts, or see the OSHA jobsite toilet rules.
